#ThereSheServesFor 13 years, I have encouraged our youth to succeed through the power of literacy. Through my undying passion, I now work to increase literacy rates, thus boosting the economy, fostering tolerance, and improving the world as a whole.
Most recently, I have raised $70,000 to rerelease my children's book "Imagine with Keira" for children across the state of California! |
Why?According to the California Census, 23.1% of all individuals are illiterate and the Golden State was recently labeled with the highest illiteracy rates in the nation. This translates into higher rates of unemployment, poverty, crime, and teen pregnancy. Because of these shocking stats, I was driven to collect over 25,000 books for underprivileged children thus my journey to help others through the power of reading had taken flight.

Today's ActionsToday, I am achieving my literacy goals with my interactive storytime at the ImagineU Children’s Museum and my sponsor Usborne Books. Furthermore, I built Little Libraries, raised funds for education, have spoken in service clubs, and won the 2017 United Way Youth Advocate Award through my passion. I most recently Co-founded a free, virtual tutoring program called Brainiacs Mentoring to help learning across America soar during and after covid.

#ThereSheStrivesI work to raise awareness of my literacy initiative through my social media, advocacy, and book called "Imagine with Keira." I am now working with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department, Habitat for Humanity, the Visalia Unified School District, and Tulare County Office of Education's $5 million literacy grant committee. My dream is to expand these programs throughout the state and nation.
